Skin & Artistry operates in full compliance with all applicable municipal bylaws, Interior Health Authority regulations, and provincial standards for infection prevention and control. We are committed to providing a safe, professional, and respectful environment for all clients.
1. Health & Safety Standards
• All procedures are performed using single-use, sterile needles and disposable supplies where applicable.
• All equipment and work surfaces are disinfected before and after every procedure, following Health Canada–approved protocols.
• Gloves are worn at all times during treatment, and strict hand hygiene is maintained.
• All pigments used are cosmetic-grade, Health Canada–approved, and stored according to manufacturer guidelines.
2. Client Eligibility & Consent
• Clients must be 18 years of age or older. Government-issued photo ID is required at the first appointment.
• A detailed health and medical intake form must be completed prior to any procedure.
• A signed informed consent form is required, acknowledging potential risks, healing expectations, and outcomes.
• We cannot proceed with services for individuals who are:
• Pregnant or breastfeeding.
• Under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
• Experiencing active skin conditions or infections in the treatment area.
• Taking certain medications (e.g., blood thinners, Accutane) unless cleared by a physician.
3. PMU Brows – Procedure Guidelines
• A patch test may be offered for pigment sensitivity if requested or deemed necessary.
• Final results vary depending on skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. A follow-up “perfection session” within 6–8 weeks is recommended for optimal results.
• Touch-ups outside the recommended time frame will be charged at the current touch-up rate.
4. Paramedical Tattooing & Scar Revision
• Services are intended for camouflaging or improving the appearance of healed scars and are not a medical treatment.
• Scars must be fully healed (generally 12–18 months old) and free of redness or keloid activity before treatment can proceed.
• Clients recently undergoing surgery, radiation, or laser treatments must provide written clearance from a healthcare provider.
• Multiple sessions may be required for optimal results. Results will vary based on scar condition, skin type, and pigment retention.
5. Appointment & Deposit Policy
• A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. This deposit will be applied toward your final service cost.
• Cancellations or rescheduling require at least 48 hours’ notice to avoid forfeiting your deposit.
• Late arrivals of more than 15 minutes may result in rescheduling and deposit loss.
6. Aftercare Responsibility
• Detailed aftercare instructions will be provided after each service.
• Following aftercare is essential for optimal healing and results.
• Failure to follow aftercare guidelines may affect pigment retention and overall outcome; adjustments due to improper aftercare will be billed as a new session.
7. Liability & Results Disclaimer
• While every effort is made to ensure the best possible outcome, individual results cannot be guaranteed due to variables in skin type, healing, and lifestyle factors.
• Skin & Artistry is not responsible for any adverse reactions or outcomes caused by failure to follow pre- or post-procedure guidelines.
• All procedures are performed in accordance with the City of Kelowna bylaws and Interior Health Authority regulations.
8. Confidentiality
• All client records are kept strictly confidential in accordance with British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
• Client photographs may be used for educational or marketing purposes only with written consent.
